Document size settings need to be to specification.
Your design must be limited to the printable area. Top, bottom, and outside margins in templates for broadsheet posters, standard size pages, and tabloid sized pages must be kept free of content.
For best legibility, use a minimum font size of 8pt.
Don’t use colors made up of more than one ink for small font sizes. Text composed of more than one ink can fall out of registration and appear blurred. Save colored text for larger headlines when possible. It’s best to keep text 100% K. Avoid using dropout (reverse) white text in small areas.
Color images can be left as RGB as long as the SNAP 2009 profile is selected as the working CMYK color space under “Edit” menu > “Color Settings” and “View” > “Proof Setup” is set to “Working CMYK”.
To install the SNAP 2009 profile, download it. In Windows, Right Click, Install. On a Mac, place the profile in Macintosh HD / Library / Application Support / Adobe / Color / Profiles
Black and white images need to be in grayscale color mode. CMYK and RGB black and white images processed as grayscale will print very dark.
Images should be 200 ppi at their final print size.
Images must be flattened.
